Established by Lama Sherab Gyatso in the year 1850, Ghoom Monastery is adorned with various Buddha statues amongst which one is quite popular- Maitreyi Buddha also called as Coming Buddha is the main idol of the shrine. There is a 15 feet tall statue of Lord Buddha idolized here in the central hall and it is believed that the statue has been made up of the clay brought from Tibet. When you reach the shrine, you also get to witness several Buddhist manuscripts inscribed in the premises of the holy place.
