Established by Lama Sherab Gyatso in the year 1850, Ghoom Monastery is adorned with various Buddha statues amongst which one is quite popular- Maitreyi Buddha also called as Coming Buddha is the main idol of the shrine. There is a 15 feet tall statue of Lord Buddha idolized here in the central hall and it is believed that the statue has been made up of the clay brought from Tibet.
